About Kym Carpentieri, DO

Dr. Carpentieri is a board certified Primary Care and Family Medicine physician. She is a graduate of New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) and trained in Family Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York. Dr. Carpentieri started off her medical career in 2003 as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the medical school which she trained. Since then she has been in clinical practice. She has a strong interest in preventative medicine, women's health and diabetes care. Dr. Carpentieri remains involved in teaching and is currently an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at NYITCOM. Dr. Carpentieri was inducted in the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Mentor Hall of Fame in 2011 upon recommendation by one of her students. Dr. Carpentieri was also named a Guardian of the Profession by the AOA in 2013 and received the President’s Award from the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS) in 2018. Most recently she received the 2019 Women in Medicine award from the town of Brookhaven. Dr. Carpentieri has a very busy and rewarding personal life being married and the mother of four daughters. When she is not running the children to swimming, equestrian, Girl Scouts, music and various activities, Dr. Carpentieri enjoys traveling with her family and enjoying her home and dogs.
