Adults and children of any age can be tested for allergies, even though children are more likely to develop allergies.

Millions of people in the United States have allergies. To provide effective medical help to our patients, we first find out where our patients may experience an allergic reaction. We use allergy tests and medical history of the patient to discover things that causes the allergic reactions.

Diagnosis of allergies can be done via a skin test or blood test that discovers response of antibodies to allergies. However, before suggesting any test, we ask about:

  • Any illness you may have

  • Your lifestyle

  • Your eating routine

  • Where you live and work (Nature of work)

The most common types of allergies are:

  • Food allergies

  • Allergic asthma

  • Dust allergy

  • Seasonal allergies

  • Penicillin allergy

  • Dermatitis

  • Skin rashes

  • Hay fever

  • Venom allergy

Risk Factors:

Skin tests include no or little pain. The only risk factor associated with these tests is that the allergy symptoms could take place during the test. Hence, testing may cause itching, redness, bumps and swelling on the skin area that being tested. However, all these symptoms are temporary and usually disappear within one or two days.
